Child Safety Standards

Ego has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This page sets out our standards and how to report concerns.

Our standards

These standards apply everywhere on Ego: live streams, voice rooms, calls, profiles, posts, comments, private messages, games and any other content or contact made through the app.

  • Ego is only for people aged 18 and over.
  • We prohibit any content or behaviour that sexualises, grooms, exploits or endangers a minor, including sexual messages, requests for images, sextortion, trafficking, and sharing or linking to CSAM.
  • We prohibit attempts to get around these rules, such as code words, links, or moving a conversation with a minor to another app.
  • Accounts involved in CSAE are permanently banned, along with related accounts.

How we prevent harm

  • Age requirement at sign-up, and removal of accounts we find belong to minors.
  • Moderation of live streams, voice rooms and reported content by our team, supported by automated tools.
  • In-app tools to report and block users from profiles, streams, rooms and chats.
  • Restrictions on accounts that receive repeated reports while we investigate.

How to report

If you see anything that may involve a child being harmed or exploited:

  1. Use Report on the user's profile, stream, room or chat, and choose the most relevant reason.
  2. Email our child safety contact at [email protected] with the user ID(s), the room ID or stream if you have it, the date and time, and a short description.
  3. If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police or emergency services first.

Do not download, screenshot or share suspected abuse material, even to report it. Send us the user ID and a description instead.

What we do

We review child safety reports as a priority, remove violating content, ban the accounts involved, preserve relevant information as required by law, and report confirmed CSAM to the relevant authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and local law enforcement where applicable.

Compliance

Ego Stream complies with applicable child safety laws in the countries where Ego is available and cooperates with law enforcement investigations.
