Who can use Ego
You must be at least 18 years old, and old enough to enter a binding contract where you live. You may not use Ego if we have previously banned you, or if the law or sanctions prohibit you from using it. We may ask you to verify your age or identity before you use some features. Do not misstate your age.
Your account
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your login private. You are responsible for everything done through your account.
- One person, one account. Do not buy, sell, rent or share accounts.
- Tell us at [email protected] straight away if you think someone else is using your account.
Rules of conduct
You must follow our Community Guidelines. In particular, you must not:
- post or stream nudity, sexual content, violence, hate, harassment or anything illegal;
- involve, sexualise or endanger minors in any way;
- scam, defraud or impersonate others, or promote gambling, drugs or weapons;
- share other people's private information without permission;
- infringe anyone's copyright, trademark or other rights;
- spam, use bots, scripts, scrapers or modified apps, reverse engineer the app or exploit bugs;
- sell, trade or buy virtual items, coins or accounts outside the app;
- interfere with or try to gain unauthorised access to the Service.
Moderation and reports
You can report and block users from any profile, stream, room or chat. We may remove content or restrict accounts without notice when needed for safety or legal reasons.
Your content
You own the content you post, stream or send. To run the Service, you give Ego Stream a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, stream, distribute and adapt that content in connection with operating, promoting and improving Ego. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where the content has been shared with others who have not deleted it, or where we must keep it for legal reasons.
You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the rights to share it. You are not owed payment for our use of it. Live streams and rooms may be recorded and reviewed for moderation, safety, legal compliance and disputes.
Virtual items and purchases
- You can buy virtual currency (such as diamonds or points) through Google Play or the Apple App Store and use it for gifts, items and features in Ego.
- Virtual currency and items are a limited licence to use a feature of the Service. They are not real money, have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money and cannot be transferred outside the app, except as expressly allowed for host earnings below.
- Purchases are final and non-refundable, except where the law or the store's own refund policy requires otherwise. See Purchases & Refunds.
- We may change prices and the virtual items on offer. If your account is banned for breaking these terms, you lose any remaining virtual items.
- Games in Ego use virtual items for entertainment only. Game results have no real-money value.
Host and agency earnings
Approved hosts may receive rewards (such as stars) when other users send them gifts. Rewards can be exchanged for payouts only through the host programme, under the rates, minimums, schedules and verification rules shown in the app at the time. We may hold or cancel rewards linked to fraud, chargebacks, refunds or violations of these terms. You are responsible for any taxes on your earnings.
Our intellectual property
The Ego app, name, logo, design and content (other than user content) belong to Ego Stream or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, sell or create works based on them without our written permission.
Copyright complaints
If you think content on Ego infringes your copyright or trademark, email [email protected] with your contact details, the work you own, where the content is in the app (user ID, room or post), and a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised and that you are the owner or authorised to act for them.
Third-party services
Ego uses third-party services, such as sign-in with Google, Facebook or Apple, app store billing and in-app games. Your use of those services is also governed by their own terms and policies.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using Ego and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access, with or without notice, if you break these terms or the law, or if we need to protect users or the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
Disclaimers
Ego is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind, including that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure. We are not responsible for the content or conduct of users, inside or outside the app.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ego Stream will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Indemnity
You agree to cover Ego Stream for claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) caused by your content, your use of Ego or your breach of these terms or the law.
Apple App Store and Google Play
If you downloaded Ego from the App Store: these terms are between you and Ego Stream, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to support or maintain the app and is not responsible for claims about it, including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims. If the app does not meet an applicable warranty, you may tell Apple, which may refund the purchase price, if any. You confirm you are not in a country under a U.S. Government embargo and are not on a U.S. prohibited-party list. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.
If you use Ego from Google Play, Google Play's terms and billing rules also apply.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the "Last updated" date and, for significant changes, notify you in the app. If you keep using Ego after the changes take effect, you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the place where Ego Stream is registered, without regard to conflict of law rules. Mandatory consumer protection laws of the country where you live still apply.
General
If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right, we have not waived it. These terms, with the policies they link to, are the whole agreement between you and us about Ego. If they are translated, the English version applies unless local law says otherwise.
