Be kind and respectful
- Treat others the way you want to be treated. Disagree without insults.
- No bullying, harassment, threats, stalking or encouraging others to target someone.
- No hate speech or attacks based on race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any other protected characteristic.
Keep it clean
- No nudity, sexual acts, sexually suggestive performances, revealing outfits meant to arouse, or requests for any of these.
- No sexual content involving minors, ever. We report it to the authorities. See our Child Safety Standards.
- No graphic violence, gore, self-harm or content that glorifies it. If you or someone else is in danger, contact local emergency services.
No illegal or dangerous activity
- No promotion or sale of drugs, weapons, or other illegal goods and services.
- No gambling for real money, and no selling or trading of coins, gifts or accounts outside the app.
- No scams, phishing, fake giveaways or requests to send money or personal details.
- No smoking, drinking or dangerous stunts on stream.
Be authentic
- Do not impersonate other people, creators, brands, Ego staff, police, military or government officials, or wear their uniforms on stream.
- No spam, fake engagement, bots or multiple accounts to get around rules.
- Only stream content you have the right to share. Do not rebroadcast other people's streams, films, sports or music you do not have rights to.
Make your stream worth watching
Do not leave a stream or room running on a black, frozen or empty screen, or while you are asleep or away for a long time.
Respect privacy
Do not share anyone's private information, such as phone numbers, addresses or private photos, without their permission. Do not record or share other people's streams or calls to embarrass or harm them.
Adults only
Ego is only for people aged 18 and over. Do not bring minors on stream or into voice rooms.
How we enforce these rules
Our moderation team reviews reports and uses automated tools to find harmful content. Depending on how serious a violation is, we may:
- remove the content or end the stream;
- give a warning or mute the account;
- suspend features or the account for 1 hour, 12 hours, or 1, 3, 7 or 30 days;
- permanently ban the account and any related accounts;
- report illegal content to law enforcement.
Rewards earned through rule-breaking may be cancelled, and false or malicious reports can also be penalised. If you think we made a mistake, email [email protected] with your user ID.
How to report
- Open the user's profile, or tap the menu in the stream, room or chat.
- Tap Report, choose a reason and add any details.
- Tap Block if you no longer want to see or hear from them.
